GET TO KNOW Culture Care North
Welcome To Culture Care North
Culture Care North CIC was founded in response to the lived experiences and challenges individuals and families faced when accessing care services. Having encountered significant barriers in securing culturally appropriate support for their loved ones, our founders established Culture Care to bridge these gaps, offering a solution that genuinely respects and understands the needs of Sunderland’s BAME communities.
Before formal registration, our founders provided essential support through informal care packages, shopping assistance, advocacy, and befriending. As a female-led organisation with extensive experience in health and social care, we are dedicated to delivering person-centred care that honours cultural, religious, and individual preferences.
Established in December 2022, Culture Care North CIC is a female-led, BAME social care organisation shaped by lived experiences, designed to meet the care needs of Sunderland’s Global Majority communities. By offering culturally sensitive and bilingual services, we aim to ensure that language and cultural differences are not barriers to accessing high-quality care.

Core Values
At Culture Care North CIC, we are committed to putting dignity and respect at the forefront of care delivery. We actively involve families in decision-making and ensure that our care workers and volunteers are valued as equal members of the team.

Strategic Vision
Our goal is to grow into a leading home and adult day care provider across Sunderland and Tyne & Wear, setting a benchmark for high-quality, culturally appropriate care. We strive to create a standard of excellence and inclusivity for BAME communities throughout the region.

CULTURE CARE NORTH FEEDBACK
What Our Service Users Say About Us

‘’My mother has been struggling significantly at home, and I feel that Adult Social Care does not fully grasp the personalised care she needs. It has been a constant battle to secure the necessary support for her. Despite her being palliative, it seems she is not being taken seriously, and the care package she requires has been excessively delayed. The fast-track funding process, which is supposed to be swift…

‘’I am a cancer patient living with my son and daughter-in-law after my diagnosis. My wife also has Parkinson’s and we both now rely on daily support.
Ayesha and Nahida have been guiding us as we were initially unaware of the support available. With their help, my daughter-in-law followed the necessary steps to seek assistance…
